Taleka Lodge
Taleka Lodge is the Order of the Arrow Lodge serving Okaw Valley Council. We serve 9 counties in Southern Illinois from Metro St. Louis to Clay County (near the Indiana border). Our Lodge is divided up into 4 Chapters along District lines: Crooked Creek, Black Gold, Cascasquia, and St. Clair (which also serves the Illini District). We are currently about 450 dues paid members strong. Our totem (symbol) is the Great White Egret (the meaning of Taleka) and that is also the title of our quarterly newsletter. Our members pay $10 a year in dues.
Our Brotherhood Conversion is usually right above 30%. Our self-detemined areas of excellence are Programs and Ceremonies. In a survey conducted by Section C-5C, we rated our strengths and weaknesses as follows:
| Camp Promotion: | 6 |
| Elangomat Program: | 8 |
| Troop/Team Representatives: | 4 |
| Troop Elections: | 9 |
| Brotherhood Conversion: | 7 |
