Camp Workdays

It's coming up fast, the 1st of 2 work-days at Camp Joy! If you were able to make it to your May Chapter Meeting or go to the Spring Fellowship, you will know that the Camping Committee has asked us to help the Camp Staff with getting ready for Summer Camp. We have chosen May 17th and May 31st. Lunch is being provided by the council.

There is always much to do during staff week, everything from program area set-up to CPR training. Where we can be of use is to complete most (if not all) of the work that must be done. Jobs, for example, such as setting up scoutmaster tents and clearing and cleaning out the camp sites take time away from the staff and are things we can help out with.

There have been many changes made to the Summer Camp Program this year, and all of them for the better. Even though the staff is already in training, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is that they have every extra hour we can give them to become totally familiar and comfortable with what they are doing. Therefore, I expect to see an additional 3 people from EACH chapter at both weekends.
